Please join the Colorado River Foundation for an exciting, fun-filled day celebrating the Texas Colorado River. On Sunday, March 28, 2010, the Colorado River Foundation will welcome over 600 Central Texans at Austin's original Family Clean Water Festival and Colorado River Ramble - two exciting events celebrating one great river.
The Colorado River Ramble is Austin's first annual canoe and kayak race on Lady Bird Lake in downtown Austin. Over 250 racers will compete. There are two races: a 5-mile recreational and a 10-mile sport race. Both benefit the Colorado River Foundation with a spotlight on adaptive paddling and the Wounded Warriors, presented by BAE Systems.
This unique river race will be held in conjunction with the Foundation's 2nd Annual Family Clean Water Festival at the Wilkerson Center for Colorado River Education at the LCRA Redbud Center. We expect over 400 Austinites to come out for this free, four hour community event to learn about the Colorado River and water conservation. Fun, hands-on activities, presentations, and booths by local non-profits educate youth and their families about our river.
