Colorado River Ramble

WHAT:

Over 150 racers will compete in Austin’s 3rd annual canoe and kayak race:  the Colorado River Ramble, a 5 mile recreational, 10 mile sport race, 1.5 and 5 mile stand-up paddle race and a 1.5 mile Family Fun paddle benefiting the Colorado River Foundation.

WHO:

Everyone is encouraged to participate—fun for all ages and all experience levels! Beginner and competitive paddlers, children and families.

WHERE:

Start Line: Under the MoPac Bridge on the north shore
Finish Line: Texas Rowing Center on Lady Bird Lake
Awards Ceremony: Redbud Center, 3601 Lake Austin Boulevard

1:00 p.m. Awards Ceremony at the Family
Clean Water Festival at Redbud
Center on Lake Austin Boulevard with

• Racers will need to provide their own kayak/canoe
• Texas Rowing Center is offering a race day special
of $10 for singles and $15 for doubles
• Boats may also be rented at REI Gateway, Rowing Dock, Zilker Boat Rentals, and SUP Boards at Austin Paddle Sports

WHY:

To support the Colorado River Foundation in its efforts to educate youth on the crucial need for water conservation practices, host specific programs to clean up the river, and help citizens of all ages and from all economic backgrounds understand, protect, use and enjoy the natural resources of Texas.

VOLUNTEER:

Volunteers are needed to assist with all aspects of the race including: packet pick-up, set-up, check-in, snack & beverage delivery, marshalling, boat help, parking, and more.
