Racers will need to pick up Colorado River Ramble race packets before the event on either Friday or Saturday. You will sign your US Canoe Association waiver and receive your goody bag, racer shirt, and all the pertinent information needed for the race.

RACE DAY INFORMATION (Subject to change. Check back for details closer to race day):
CHECK-IN:
All racers must check-in on Sunday morning. Race check-in is from 7:30-8:30am and all racers must attend a mandatory safety course briefing that starts at 9:00am. At check-in you will also receive a wristband for a FREE Schlozsky’s lunch during the Awards Ceremony at the Redbud Center 3601 Lake Austin Blvd.
If you are bringing your own boat, you can either park and bring it down to the Mopac footbridge or drop off your boat at the footbridge (a volunteer will hold the boat until you return), park and then pick up your boat and head to the water.
If you are renting a boat, you can rent a boat from the Texas Rowing Center (official race finish line) by calling (512) 467-7799 for a flat fee of $10 for singles or $15 for doubles, or from REI Gateway or the Rowing Dock. All racers are required to wear PFDs.
PARKING:
Racer parking at the Colorado River Ramble will be near the Mopac bridge and the Texas Rowing Center. Do NOT park in the Austin HS parking lot. You will be towed.
RACE COURSE:
The 5 and 10 mile races will start at the north shore of the MoPac pedestrian footbridge on Lady Bird Lake, go upstream toward Red Bud Isle about 2.5 m
iles (a marker will be present) and then loop back around at the Lamar bridge (marker present). The race will end at the Texas Rowing Center. For the 10 mile race, participants will loop the course twice. The 1.5 mile paddle will be marked as such on the race course. A map of the course is highlighted in your race packet.
Colorado River Foundation’s Family Clean Water Festival will also be taking place on race day at the Redbud Center where you will receive lunch and we will have the Awards Ceremony. Feel free to invite friends and family to this FUN, FREE educational event!
