Each year, the Colorado River Alliance brings the Texas Colorado River to life for over 5,000 Texas youth. Hands-on learning experiences teach vital concepts about our River’s health and water conservation, and community events encourage individuals and multiple corporate entities to understand, protect, use, and responsibly enjoy the natural resources of Texas.
The Alliance also works to equip area leaders with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions through programs like our Barstow Speaker Series and Colorado River Water Tour, reaching 250 key stakeholders annually.
Alliance members are critical to a healthy, flowing Colorado River. With every new Ally who joins our membership base, we expand our ability to positively impact the River we all depend on and love. Your financial support shows your commitment to protecting and preserving our Colorado River for generations to come. Donate online or download our membership form and mail with your payment to: P.O. Individual and group volunteers are the heart of our organization. We host numerous programs and events that rely on volunteers to keep them free of charge and accessible to all. Our environmental education volunteers comprise a close-knit community of Texans committed to kids, nature and learning. Our volunteers include people from many walks of life – parents, grandparents, working people, retired people, stay-at-home moms and dads, college students, and more.
Find out more about our education programs. This opportunity is perfect for volunteers with time during the school day. No teaching experience or background in natural science is necessary. We provide all the training and observations you need!
The Colorado River Alliance has internships available for the fall, spring and summer terms. Internships are unpaid but are available for academic credit. Interns are expected to commit at least 15 hours a week. Interns can gain experience as an environmental educator, community events organizer, or graphic designer. Please be prepared to submit an application along with your resume and cover letter.
