Development & Events
Help plan and execute vital development activities and events for the Colorado River Alliance. The river is our community’s heart and soul, and this position is a great opportunity to ensure its vibrance and vitality. The qualified candidate will assist the Director of Philanthropy Operations in a variety of activities focused on fundraising, donor relations, communications, research and events.
Internship period: Fall
Key responsibilities:
- Identifying and cultivating donors through engagement and communications
- Drafting and processing gift acknowledgements
- Updating constituent records and compiling research on donors, foundations and corporations
- Assisting with planning and executing development events, including CRA’s annual fall gala
- Assisting with grant-writing
- Contacting donors and constituents as needed by phone and email
- Other administrative tasks related to fundraising and events as required
Time commitment: Hybrid internship. Minimum commitment of 10 hours/week. Flexible between business hours (Mon-Fri). Specific work shifts and virtual/in-person hours can be negotiated. Some evening and weekend hours may be requested for fundraising events or other activities.

Stipend: Dependent on budget and will be confirmed at beginning of internship.

Reports to: Director of Philanthropy Operations
Qualifications:
- Pursuing or completed an undergraduate degree
- Can commit to 10 hours a week for a semester, with potential for some evenings and weekends
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Excellent organizational skills, with great attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Solid teamwork skills and ability to work individually
- Experience with graphic design and/or social media preferred, but not required

The Colorado River Alliance champions the long-term vitality of the Texas Colorado River through education and engagement. At the Alliance, we believe that a healthy, flowing river is imperative to the long-term well-being of our communities and our state.
Our interns gain comprehensive training, professional development consultations with our staff, and networking and resume-building opportunities.
Stipend
All interns will receive a $500-1,000 stipend upon successful completion of the internship.
Commitment
All intern positions require a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week.
Location
In-person at the Wilkerson Center for Colorado River Education on Lake Austin Blvd. (unless otherwise noted in posting details).
General Qualifications
Spanish proficiency a plus but not required. Pursuing or completed an undergraduate degree. For class credit not required.
