Internship Opportunity: Development & Events

All intern positions require a minimum commitment of 10-15 hours per week and will receive a $1,000 stipend upon successful completion of the internship.

This is an in-depth internship opportunity to help plan and execute vital fundraising events and activities for the Colorado River Alliance. The river is our community’s heart and soul, and this position is a great opportunity to ensure its vibrance and vitality. The qualified candidate will assist the Director of Development in a variety of activities focused on events and fundraising. Our interns gain comprehensive training, professional development consultations with staff, and networking and resume-building opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with planning and executing development events, including our annual gala & regional events.
  • Keep meticulous notes during meetings
  • Assist in identifying and securing auction donation items
  • Assist in identifying and cultivating donors
  • Assist in event messaging and advertising
  • Other tasks related to events and fundraising as needed
  • Volunteer management
  • Help as needed during event days (9am-10pm)

Qualifications: 

  • Be working on or have completed a bachelor’s degree
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Solid teamwork skills and ability to work solo
  • Comfortable with fundraising, including cold calling
  • Experience with databases a plus
  • Experience with WordPress and graphic design skills a plus

Location: Currently a remote internship.

Hours: Flexible between business hours. Minimum commitment of 10-12 hours/week. A few evening and weekend hours may be required for fundraising events or other activities.
