This September, 634 volunteers removed 4,494 pounds of trash and debris from 23 dive and park cleanup sites during the 32nd Annual Lake Travis Cleanup.

As one of Central Texas’ primary drinking water reservoirs, Lake Travis helps supply clean, reliable water to millions of Texans. Rainfall and stormwater runoff can carry litter from the watershed into the lake, where it can affect water quality and aquatic habitats.

Lake Travis Cleanup data will be reported to Keep Texas Beautiful’s Litter Database, the first statewide litter database of its kind, which puts local litter prevention and cleanup efforts in the context of statewide efforts.

The Lake Travis Cleanup is hosted in partnership with Travis County Environmental Quality and Travis County Parks.

Thank you to our cleanup volunteers for helping protect and preserve the Texas Colorado River for future generations! Check out this year’s photo contest winners!
