The Texas Colorado River is the lifeblood of our community. It provides our drinking water, supports our agriculture and industry, and is home to a diverse ecosystem of plants and animals. The River is also an important location for people to gather, it’s a place of solace when we are seeking peace. It is a deep part of our community’s history. It is a part of each of us.

This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to join us in giving back to the river that gives to us all year long.

Here are 3 ways to #LoveYourRiver this Giving Tuesday:

Make a donation

Help us reach our goal of $4,000 to support year-round creek cleanups! Every year, Colorado River Alliance helps remove an average of 18,000 lbs of trash from the Colorado River and its surrounding basin through river, park, creek, and lake cleanups. On Giving Tuesday, every $1 donated removes $1.4lbs of trash from our drinking water! Make your gift.

Volunteer

GivingTuesday is a day to celebrate generosity in all its forms! If you are looking for a way to give back to your water source, you can join us on December 2nd for a Community Creek Cleanup at Onion Creek Metro Park from 10am – 12pm. Bring your water bottle, a friend, or the whole family for a fun morning dedicated to loving our River and helping keep our drinking water clean. RSVP.

Engage with the River

Have a creek-side picnic, kayak, or break out your fishing poles. Tell us all about it by tagging us in your river post and sharing the hashtag #LoveYourRiver. Follow us on Instagram.
